99 DAYS ON THE WALL... The Little Things
This year's Challenge is about the biology of success. Yesterday we saw that... Success is not genetic, but rather fueled by your mental energy.
Today we look at...
The Little Things — Done Well!
I believe that much of my success when I transitioned into the corporate world was due to my life in ranching and its "Natural Order" Principles. For successful ranchers, every plan is based on the season, weather, environment, resources and responsibility all wrapped in a "Can Do" attitude.
I have seen many successful corporate managers and leaders who did not survive ranching ventures becuase they did not uderstand the rhythm and confused their particular success values to be nature principles. Many times, your value system conflicts with your environment. While values are important piece... Your success rate is doomed if you do not create synergy between your goals and action plans with the natural rhythm and order of things. Rancher's use well thought-out plans and measured actions based on five questions:

1) Does it fit?
2) Can I manage it?
3) Is it sustainable?
4) Is it reliable?
5) Can I maintain it?
Ultimately... Success is not the "Win", it is doing all the little necessary things that sets you up to Win.
