3rd ANNUAL 100-DAY CHALLENGE
Here we go… our End-of-the-Year-Challenge!
100 Days on the Wall, how are you doing on your 2010 goals? There is a natural tendency to drift and lose focus as we approach the end of anything. Drift can kill momentum and zap energy causing you to lose sight of the goal. This challenge takes stock of where you are (right now) and uses the last 100 days of the year to encourage, clear the clutter, build momentum.
The next 90 Days sets a pace to achieve your year-end goals. The last 10 days celebrates how far you have come, leaving you energized, setting the stage for 2011 to be your "BEST YEAR EVER!"
In his book, THE BIOLOGY OF SUCCESS, Dr. Robert Arnot writes that success is not genetic, but rather fueled by your mental energy.
Growing up on a ranch in the Nebraska Sandhills, I learned early that everything in life has energy and natural rhythm. You learn quickly that you cannot fool the force of Mother Nature for she sets the pace. Matching mental toughness with an enduring love and appreciation for nature's ebb and flow, ranchers set their goals and hone their existence to stay in sync with their environment. This synergetic setting benefits all.
100-Day Challenge… Where to Start?
1. Set your 90-Day Goal(s): Choose no more than three goals you want to achieve in the next 90 days. Make them juicy, measurable and achievable. Set each goal end- date to 12/21/10.
2. Establish Your Starting Point and Track your Movement: To achieve this, look at where you are today in terms of your goal on a scale of 1-10 (1=low, 10=high). Transfer the number to your Goal-Achievement-Meter (GAM). Chart your daily GAM to track your movement.
3. Generate Your Action Plan (AP): Take your GAM number (say you are at a 6) and ask yourself, “What would it take for my goal to be a 10, 10+, 10++?” The answers become your action plan for that goal. Write down your actions steps and give each an end date.
4. Do a Daily Check: Using your 1-10 scale, chart your mental energy on a daily basis.
